"Why Spain?"you may ask. That's what I said too! After all, I'm a native Californian, just a hundred miles or so from the Mexican border. Of course, Mexico isn't Spain, but, I figured same language (WRONG), similar cultures (WRONG), bullfights (well, yeah) - so - why Spain? BUT THEN, I read a book. No - it wasn't Rick Steves' guidebook to Spain - it was "Origins" by Dan Brown (author of "The DaVinci Code".) The book opens with Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks' character) in Bilbao at the Guggenheim.  From there he travels to Barcelona, then on to Madrid.  Long story short, after the first fifty pages, I HAD to go to Spain! I booked the tour, got a cheap flight with Norwegian Airlines out of LAX (less than $500!) and was on my way!

About my scrapbook

My site is a scrapbook, not a blog.  You'll find pics and short comments here; no recipes, handy hints, or long blocks of text. It's very simple, direct and non-linear - there's not a day-by-day progression of the tour.  If you're curious about the Sagrada Familia or The Alhambra, check out "Top Tour Sights."If you're more into people - then click on "Street Scenes" or "Free Time."  For fun - look at the hotel (RS guidebook-recommended) I stayed at in Bilbao pre-tour in "Eating/Sleeping."
